How To Properly Maintain Your Sex Doll

4 min read

Just like any normal woman, sex dolls need a bit of TLC too. It’s important to keep your sex doll well maintained and clean to prevent any damage. Luckily, they can be easily washed down in the shower or the bath - although you might be tempted for a quickie once she’s all wet!

Looking after your doll and keeping them in good condition can add years to their life, just follow our guidelines below.

Having Sex With Your Sex Doll

Having Sex With Your Sex Doll

When having sex with your doll, either anal or vaginal, you should use a water-based lubricant like K-Y Jelly. Not only will it make the experience more realistic, but it’ll also help to avoid any tears to the skin.

You should also be careful when trying out certain positions as realistic sex dolls can weigh quite a bit. Avoid putting weight on delicate areas such as the hands or ankles - like in doggy style - as this can damage them. Always support your doll with cushions when experimenting with different positions.

Cleaning Your Sex Doll

Cleaning Your Sex Doll

Regardless of if you have a silicone sex doll or a TPE one, you can clean them both by hand with hot water and soap. It’s important to wash your doll regularly, especially after sex, to keep her fresh and hygienic.

Use Mild Soap

We recommend using a mild soap, preferably antibacterial, to avoid any potential reaction. Coloured or fragranced soap can potentially stain your doll so stick to something plain.

Clean the Doll Head

Try to avoid getting the head wet, especially when bathing your doll, as the head is more delicate and it’s harder to dry out all the cavities. For the head, use a warm face cloth to rub over the face, neck and head.

Cleaning the Doll Cavities

You can buy specialist cleaners which may make the process a little quicker. Anal or vaginal irrigators can be inserted into the cavities to rinse them out. They work like a douche by squirting water from a nozzle.

Pro Tip: For best results, start with cold water, straight after sex, then finish off with warm water and soap. If you don’t have a specialist irrigator, a squirty bottle can work just as well.

Best Way To Dry The Doll

Once you’ve washed your doll, dry off with a clean towel using a dabbing action. Avoid blow drying as this can damage the skin. We recommend using talcum powder to dry up any remaining water. Talcum powder (or baby powder) will also give your doll a soft feel. If your doll ever feels tacky or sticky, just re-apply a little powder.

Washing The Doll Hair

Washing The Hair

If you’re buying a sex doll for the first time, you may not know that dolls wear wigs - what better way change the look of your doll - a brunette on the weekdays and a blond for the weekend? Wash the hair separately with a mild shampoo and conditioner and allow to dry naturally. Gentry brush the hair afterwards to keep it tangle free.

We don’t recommend using a hairdryer but if you must, use the coolest setting to avoid damaging the strands.

Storing Your Sex Doll - How to Prevent Damage?

Storing Your Doll

All of our dolls are made to the highest specification, so you don’t have to worry about damaging them through regular use. When not in use, it’s best to keep them is a cool dark place away from any strong odours. Avoid direct sunlight too as this can age the skin and cause discolouration.

You can keep them in the packaging they came in when not in use if you have the space or you can buy specialist hangers for the wardrobe if you prefer. Make sure to store them in a comfortable position to avoid any damage that can be caused to due to the weight of the sex doll. Also, be sure to dress your doll in colourfast clothing; i.e. clothing that will not transfer dye onto your doll’s skin. For this reason, don’t wrap your doll in anything that contains ink, such as newspaper. TPE dolls are more prone to staining as they are more porous than silicone sex dolls.
